Periodontitis

Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease resulting from the disruption of host-microbial homeostasis. Dysbiosis of the oral microbiome (notably Porphyromonas gingivalis) drives chronic inflammation and destruction of soft periodontal tissue and alveolar bone across 14 molecular systems.
